My First Copic Colour Challenge

This card was designed for the Copic Colour Challenge #51 which features Copic colors R29, RV23 and B12. I'm using some of the last pieces of my Pink Paislee Cupid Collection paper which matched beautifully with the colors in this challenge. And yes...you have seen this layout on a previous post using my Barefoot Tilda image with a chocolate satin ribbon! I had already sewn the card base together when I saw the colors for this weeks color challenge and knew it would be a perfect fit.

I had such fun with these beautiful colors but I just couldn't figure out the best way to incorporate the R29...so I used my R29 marker and airbrushed some shimmery cream ribbon! You just gotta love the airbrush for altering the color of the embellishments!

I've also been watching the Copic tutorials posted by Suzanne J. Dean. What an inspiration!! You can view her tutorials here. She is such an amazing talent and all of her projects are simply extraordinary! I've taken the Copic certification class but I have so much to learn and she willingly shares her tips and techniques.

One last Valentine card

OK...I know it's February 15th, but I just found a fun challenge over at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge blog. This challenge is simply to create a valentine card using any Penny Black stamp. I have never participated in a challenge before - but since my stash of Penny Black stamps is growing quite quickly, I thought it would be fun to join in. Just maybe...I'll even figure out how to use all of the links!!

This card uses two stamps from Penny Black "Via Post" and "Be My Valentine". I've used some Pink Paislee paper from their new Cupid Collection - one of my favorites!!! The image is colored with Copic markers.

...And of course you'll see that I've sewn the edges with my sewing machine. I really love the look of the sewn layers!!

Barefoot Tilda and my zig-zag stitching

Happy Valentine's Day!

I finally did it! I set up my sewing machine and I stitched for the very first time on paper. I've seen such beautiful cards and scrapbook layouts with machine stitching but have never actually tried it and now I'm hooked! My sewing machine is 38 years old and was handed down from my husband's grandmother. I wasn't even sure that it could do a zig-zag stitch, but it worked like a charm. Now I want to sew on every card and every scrapbook page!! If you look closely, you'll see the zig-zags around the outside edges of the patterned paper.

This Barefoot Tilda is colored with Copics. I'm trying to go with the concept of "less is more" when I color and I am not putting down so much color on these little Magnolias. I love the look of the soft colors and they went perfectly with this paper from "Pink Paislee". Her wings are glittered with some Doodlebug sugar-coated glitter - I'm not sure if that shows up in the picture. The card stock and ribbon are from Stampin' Up!

Valentine Box of Chocolates

Good Evening!
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I want to share one last Penny Black Valentine bear. Isn't he a sweet little guy holding his box of chocolates? The name of the stamp is "Tender Hearts" and the sentiment is also from Penny Black stamps. The striped paper is "Love Bandit Stripe" from BoBunny...love the paper and the name!
He's colored with Copic markers and tied with some pretty two-toned pink satin ribbon.

Baking Tilda in Green

I just adore this "Baking Tilda" from Magnolia stamps. Maybe it's her long hair, or the sweet outfit, or the cookies fresh out of the oven but it's one of my favorite images.
You'll see a previous post where I colored this image in blue, now she appears in green and soon, you'll also see her in pink!

The paper is a glittered and embossed paper from DCWV. The Regal Rose cardstock and ribbon are from Stampin' Up. I found the silver double heart charm in the wedding department at Hobby Lobby. I'm also breaking out my Nesties and having so much fun!!

I often wondered why Tilda and Edwin from Magnolia stamps don't have mouths and why some of the image have wings while others do not. Here's the answer I found from some of the Magnolia experts at the Magnolia Yahoo group. Tilda and Edwin are angels. Sometimes the wings are visible, other times they are hidden on their back. Angels have no need for a mouth because they speak with their heart. I thought this was wonderful! It makes me love these stamps even more!

Conversation Hearts Box Cover

Good Afternoon!
I miss the days when the boys were younger and we would sit at the kitchen table and sign all of the valentines for school valentine parties. How time flies...
I bought the boxes of Conversation Hearts weeks ago, but I knew that I wanted to decorate with the "Sending Love" designer paper from Stampin' Up. I finally got my hands on the paper and made my covers for these boxes today. It's another cold day with flurries and sleet...so not a bad day to stay inside and play in my office.

The large box cover measures 3 1/2 x 8 1/2.
The scalloped band was cut at 2 1/2 x 8 1/2, and the punched along the long sides with the scallop border punch.
The Designer paper band was cut at 2 x 7 for the box on the left and 1 7/8 x 7 for the box on the right.

Everything for this project is from Stampin' Up! Here's a list of the supplies:
Stamps: I (Heart) Hearts
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Sending Love Designer paper
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink

Baking Tilda in Blue

Good Afternoon!
I inked up another one of my new Magnolia stamps and have been coloring this afternoon. Oh my goodness - I absolutely LOVE these stamps!!
This is "Baking Tilda" and she's done in colors to match my Bashful Blue card stock. I can't wait to try her in other colors!! I've already stamped her multiple times on my white card stock and while the rest of the family is enjoying the football game this evening, I may be coloring with my Copics!! (I just have to keep my priorities in order!)
I used the "Labels 4" Nestabilities dies, a Martha Stewart heart border punch and the Stampin' Up! photo corners punch to complete the card. The white organza ribbon, card stock and designer paper are all from Stampin' Up!

Hot Chocolate Anyone?

I just had to share one more treat tonight. With 4 fluffy inches of snow yesterday and more in the forecast for the entire week, it's time for some hot cocoa!
I've made these "Pull-treats" with Hershey bars, microwave popcorn, packets of gum, etc...but this one contains a package of hot chocolate.

The brown card stock measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and is scored at 2" and 6" on the long side to fit a single serving size packet of hot chocolate.
The blue Dotted Swiss belly band measures 9x3.

I've punched a couple of strips of scalloped border from white card stock with my new Scallop border punch from Stampin' Up! and adhered them to the back side of the blue belly band. The belly band is then folded around the Brown card stock.

The ribbon measures about 16".

Valentine Bear

Good evening!

Here's another Valentine bear! I bought 4 different bears made by Penny Black and I'm having such fun coloring with my Copic markers. I've used another paper from Pink Paislee and the striped pattern is actually the reverse side of the hearts. You can expect a few more valentines to come over the next few days... I'm obsessed!

Penny Black Valentine Bear

Good Evening and Happy February!
Isn't this little bear adorable? Both the Bear and the sentiment stamps are from Penny Black. You may see this little guy showing up in numerous projects over the next few days!
